Choose Mindfulness. Now.
Is that a metered life?
That same one you’re living?
Keeping perfect track,
Of what you’re taking, or giving?
You have goals to accomplish,
And promises to keep.
And mountains to climb,
Before you let yourself sleep.
Are you often tired?
And put to the hard test?
Yet, you don’t have a moment,
To sit back and rest?
You sense the pressure,
You feel your heart ache,
Yet, you ignore it all,
Until you’re ready to break?
Do you know what you’re chasing?
Coz your GPS looks blank.
You think you’re filling your life,
Yet, is it an empty tank?
Then, one day, your eyes open,
You wonder “Is it too late?”
And again, you brush it off,
Blaming it on — poor fate.
Now, finally you ponder,
What did I do with all my time?
Why is life so monotonous,
Where’s the tune? Why no rhyme?
Do answers lie in science?
Or better evolution?
Should I look within me,
Where can I find a solution?
Mindfulness is about,
Being a little self-aware.
Of connecting with yourself,
And yes, a bit of self-care.
Mindful of the world,
Mindful of those around;
And also, of yourself,
Because your feelings also count.
This is not valueless,
It’s not a waste of time.
The mountain is in your face,
Now, is the time to climb.
Be flexible and easy,
Sometimes more might just be less.
Make the wise choice today,
Choose mindfulness.
